February Dinner Meeting

02/01/2018 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Knights of Columbus
Address: 4417 Upper River Rd, Louisville, KY 40222

History of Rose IslandRoseIsland

Rose Island was one of the premier amusement parks and summer camps located on the Ohio River at 14 Mile Creek from the early 1900s until it was destroyed in the great flood of 1937. Fellow LSPS member, Terry Chambers, has recently written a mystery thriller, ROSE ISLAND, An Almost Accurate Account of Days Gone By, which not only is a great fiction, but includes some of the local history and urban legends that surround this now deserted spot.   Terry will be talking about the history of Rose Island and the research she did in developing her novel.  Rumor has it that it also includes mention of LSPS and a couple of our very own members!  Wink/Wink – that in itself, will be well worth the listen!!

Social/Meet & Greet starts at 6:30 with dinner served at 7:00 pm.

Dinner ($15 per person, check or cash preferred).

Menu: The famous hot brown and corned beef with salad, vegetable, desserts, and coffee/tea/water.
