Come to the U of L Planetarium to see the “Summer Sky”. All interested members will meet for a brief social prior to the program.

Friday July 8 at the Rauch Planetarium
Show runs from 8:00 to 9:00 PM
Cost is $8.00 per person; $6.00 seniors and children
Parking is free after 7:30 PM (see directions below)

Directions to 106 W Brandeis, Louisville, 40292 (see Google for map) – from Watterson Expressway of north on 3rd St. and turn right immediately at the Confederate Monument. Go on block to stop sign and turn left. Go one block straight ahead around art exhibit into Rauch Planetarium parking lot. Walk back to planetarium gate at art exhibit.

Arrive as close to 7:30 as possible because members of the Louisville Astrological Society will be present to show a large meteorite collection from all over the world. They also describe a moon landing which was six seconds from being a fuel shortage disaster.

Adults and children of all ages will enjoy and can easily understand this wonderful program. Be sure to sit in th back rows if possible to get the best view. One hundred and sixty seats are available. See all the stars that are visible in Louisville during the month of July. Computers are used to locate individual stars and then project the view out to see all the stars in the constellation. The lore of Greek mythology makes an interesting study of our galaxy’s stars, planets and moons.
